Texas currently has no active Compact legislation. Texas social workers would need to make Texas their home state in the future if it joins, or hold a license in a member state.
Legislative history: Texas's 2025 compact bills (HB 3503 and SB 1726) were referred to committee but never received a hearing before the Legislature adjourned. Texas meets biennially; the next regular session convenes in January 2027.
